Religious Oppression
A named spirit with no proof text at all — the deliverance method running with nothing underneath it.
The religious spirit is taught as the power behind legalism, dead formality and the persecution of genuine spiritual life from inside the church. Unlike Jezebel, Python or Leviathan, it is not derived from any biblical name or phrase; it is named by resemblance to the behaviour it describes.
It is included here because it shows the method at its clearest. Once the framework is in place, a new spirit can be named from any observed pattern, and nothing in the method limits how many there may be. The pastoral observation behind it — that religious institutions can crush the people inside them — long predates the framework and does not depend on it.

Who was blamed, and by which text?

Oldest first. The distance between the earliest and the latest is the thing worth looking at: a claim made in an incantation four thousand years ago and one made in a paperback in 1973 are different kinds of evidence about the same symptom.
