Control and Manipulation
The most widely taught named spirit alive today, and the one whose distance from its proof text is greatest.
In charismatic teaching since the late 1980s, the spirit of Jezebel names a pattern: control exercised through manipulation rather than authority, false prophecy, the undermining of legitimate leadership, and the pairing of a controlling figure with a passive one — the Ahab spirit — who abdicates.
The passages cited are 1 Kings 16–21 and Revelation 2:20. What they describe is a Sidonian queen who imports her own cult, has Naboth judicially murdered for a vineyard, and threatens Elijah, and a woman at Thyatira called by that name in a letter. Neither passage describes a spirit, possession, or the behaviours the modern category is defined by, and the teaching's own critics inside charismatic Christianity have made this point repeatedly — including that the label is applied to women far more often than to men.

Oldest first. The distance between the earliest and the latest is the thing worth looking at: a claim made in an incantation four thousand years ago and one made in a paperback in 1973 are different kinds of evidence about the same symptom.
